Hi and welcome to 12 Solo Guitar pieces. This book is designed to give you a way of expanding your repertoire of solo pieces whilst simultaneously working on specific areas of musicianship.
I found a lot of the repertoire for guitar at the early stages didn't make use of the full guitar neck and range of the guitar, a lot of the examination pieces tended to stick within the first few frets of the guitar. These pieces from the start extend across more of the guitar neck and aim to be more full sounding whilst still not being technically impossible for the developing guitarist. Each piece is full sounding on its own so can be performed or played just for pleasure. The compositions are of varying difficulty (Between grade 2 and grade 6 level).
For the more advanced student, the easier pieces are still relevant as they focus on elements of musicianship that are applicable to all levels. e.g. Modal Harmony/ Rhythm/ Phrasing/ Projection etc. Included are 12 MP3 recordings of all the pieces to help you learn. The music covers a variety of different styles and feels.
